Who you are is defined by the choices you
make
If you are a student in grades 6 to 12 and attend Christ Episcopal
Church, you are a member of our EYC (Episcopal Youth Community)! EYC
is a time where we come together as Christians, in the name of Jesus
Christ, and as friends to learn how to serve others and strengthen
our walk with Him so that we might build stronger lives according to
His commandments. We believe that the mission of Christ Episcopal
Churchs EYC is to share the love of Christ with others through our
words, choices and actions by welcoming everyone, reaching out to
those in need, building friendships, having fun, growing together as
a community and developing our lives with Christ in a fun and
healthy atmosphere. We meet every other Tuesday from 6-8pm at Christ Episcopal Church to
fellowship together and strengthen our walk with Christ. For our
Tuesday meetings from 6-8pm, we will be watching a series of videos,
discussing them and concluding with group work and bible study.
While our Tuesday meetings will be more focused on Christian
Education and Group Discussion, we will have tons of opportunities
to get together, have fun and share in Gods love everything from
bowling nights and book club to tailgating, to Movie Nights and
Halloween Costume Parties.

Parent & Volunteer Involvement: Every Christian
teenager needs an extended family of Christian adults- adults who
can be a part of the cloud of witnesses that cheers him or her on.
And the church should be the primary vehicle through which teenagers
are exposed to adults who make up their extended family of Christ.
We want to be a part of that extended family and invite you to be as
well for all the youth of Christ Episcopal Church. The youth
ministry staff is just the tip of the iceberg in being able to reach
out to the youth. We are blessed to be entrusted with wonderful
volunteers here at Christ Episcopal Church, from parents driving and
preparing food for EYC events to volunteers of all ages taking the
time to get to know our youth individually and being part of their
"cloud of witnesses". We are all called to lay a spiritual
foundation for them and to help them grow into mature Christian
adults. We invite you to be part of this journey with one or more
young people and to realize that this investment of time is such an
important ministry. Please contact our office to find out ways that
you can be apart of our cloud of witnesses.
Mission to The Osage Indian Reservation July 11th 16th
This year, our youth will also be fundraising and preparing for
a Mission Trip to The Osage Indian Reservation in Oklahoma next
Summer from June 27, 2010 to July 2, 2010. This is an amazing
opportunity for our youth and a chance to truly see the face of God
while doing his work. The cost of the trip is $300 per student with
an initial $100 deposit due September 15th. This fee includes
lodging, food and transportation for the entire week. The EYC will
fundraise the rest of the monies need to make this trip possible. If
you or your child would like to participate in our 2010 Mission
Trip, please contact Elizabeth Corts for more information. An
initial $100 Deposit for this trip is due September 15, 2009. Half
of the balance is due March 29, 2009, and the remaining balance is
due May 30, 2009.
